subject: Some Advice On How To Pick Diets That Work [print this page] Recently the weight loss market has had a deluge of new diets and it is becoming increasing more difficult to search through them all and filter the good from the bad. The biggest problem is that all claim they can help you to lose weight in the fastest and easiest way possible, and they give you page after page of pictures and testimonials of people they claim they have helped already, so how do you know how to choose? It is not an exact science, but if you follow the tips that I have laid out below then you stand a much better chance of avoiding the scams and finding the right diet for you to follow:
Dig up some reviews: One of the quickest and easiest ways to find out if a diet is worth investing in or not is to try and find some reviews online from people who already have it. You can either use the search engines to find reviews (a fantastic place to start) or use a diet review website like InsideYourDiet.com which have a whole bunch of different reviews in one place. Or if you want feedback from normal people who have tried the diet out then seek our weight loss forums and usually there are some very spirited discussions going on about almost every diet you can imagine!
That is a great way to quickly cross off any diets which are obvious scams and just try to keep charging your credit card while they make it impossible to cancel (unfortunately I am not joking) and ones that just a waste of time.
Find out what your friends think: The good thing about seeking reviews online is that you usually find them for every single diet on the market, however you do have to trust the opinion of people you don't know. A better option is to ask your family and friends and see which diets they have tried recently and what they thought of them. You will struggle to get information on more than a handful of diets that way of course, but the feedback you do get will be far more reliable and if they said they had good results from it then you can see if they are telling the truth or not.
You might also find somebody who is willing to be a diet buddy with you, which is where you both follow the same diet together and you talk about it each day to help keep each other from quitting, or share tips you have found out to get the most out of it etc.
Find out the latest celebrity diets: This is probably a controversial choice that most people would disagree with, but I think looking at what diets celebrities are using is a good idea. If you think about then these are people with access to resources we can only dream of. They can hire the best personal trainers, have full time cooks to make them whatever meals they want etc, and so if they are choosing to follow a diet then it must be for a good reason. Of course you need to be careful about celebrities who actually promote particular diets, their choice is going to be biased, but keep an eye out for what the others are using when you read the latest news.
