subject: Some Tips You Should Observe When You Arrive At Your Destination [print this page]

Wherever you want to spend your vacation, your safety should always be considered at all times. And whether you are with your family or not, you should never take any chances because you might end up being in a pile of problems.

Obviously, the most important aspect of a vacation is enjoyment. Everybody wants to have memorable experiences during holiday vacations. But what would you do to ensure your enjoyment upon arriving at your destination?

Here are some tips you should observe:

1. Make sure your cash, documents, cards and other valuables are complete before taking off and make sure they are with you at all times when you arrive at your destination. Beware of the people who offer a "helping" hand especially when they immediately go for your luggage.

2. Never take a taxi waiting to give some services when there is a taxi queue. Most of the times these taxi drivers will take their passengers in a spin around the city. In a worst case scenario, you may be held up and everything may be taken away from you.

3. Change some of your cash to the local currency of the place you visit; this will save you from a lot of trouble when it comes to buying or paying something. Also, you can avoid pulling a large amount of money every time.

4. Research some information about your destination; this will give you ideas of the place. In the event that you cannot find something about it, you better look for any government tourism booths to inquire. More often, brochures will be given for free especially to tourists.

5. If you're new to the place, don't carry your map in your hands most of the times and act as if you're perplexed as you would definitely attract wrong type of attention. Look confident as if you really know where you're going.

6. Do not accept drinks from anybody you even haven't met before. In the event that you are thirsty, buy sealed bottled water from a store, if you are hungry look for fast food restaurants where you can eat safely and comfortably.

7. Do not carry you passport around most of the times. If you stay in a hotel or a vacation home, bury your passport into your luggage and put it somewhere safe. You may lose your passport if you carry it with you most of the times.

While enjoyment is your first priority during vacation, safety should never be taken for granted. After all, how could enjoy your vacation if you are into some big trouble?
