subject: Getting A Car Service [print this page]

Winter is definitely coming and the British winter always hits hard. Cold, wet and icy roads mean everyone needs to be on the lookout for faults with their car to ensure a safe drive. A good way to keep yourself a head of any faults with your vehicle is to have a service. This can catch any issues before they escalate.

It is important to keep your car in a good condition through the winter and have it prepared. Screen wash seems like the most obvious part to stop your water pipes breaking but there is a lot more to think about that just that. Winter tyres are a good way of keeping your car safe on a winter road with ice and snow an almost certain these tyres can give your car more resistance on the road and give you more traction.

From past experience I have found having a car servicing this time of year gives you piece of mind to know that your car has had a professional once over and will be ion good condition when driving. I for one would not want to break down of have car issues when the winter really sets in in January. Being prepared for this seems like a logical thing to do and you will thank yourself for doing this in the future.

Many places offer good professional services for decent prices and it is a good idea to do this on top of your yearly MOT. I usually have my MOT done around June so have a service done around this time of year. This is useful as it means every 6 months your car is checked over for efficiency any faults so you know your car is always road worthy.

For my piece of mind I will have a Volvo servicing in Leicester in the coming month to ensure my vehicle will keep going through the winter. Many people have said to me that this is a good thing to do and also reduce you spend on your car as it can catch problem early. There are also benefits to the value of your car by having annual services as it will maintain the value of your vehicle having these records. Especially with the hard financial times this is brilliant as when it comes to trading in your car for a new one the value you will receive for your current car will be higher and you have more bargaining power for it.
