Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, has invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982. As the worlds largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, theyre working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, and generous contributions from their partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, they have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
The crane will be named the Mary Helen, after Sims Crane CCO Operator Bubba Tillis mother-in-law, who is a breast cancer survivor. Each time the crane is rented until October 2012, Sims Crane & Equipment will donate $100 to Susan G. Komen to fund research and advancements in finding a cure for this dreaded disease.
Sims Crane was able to roll the Mary Helen out in style with the help of Sign Parrot, also located in Tampa Florida. Sign Parrot was responsible for producing all of the decals and lettering for the Mary Helen. Sign Parrot is a leader in Tampa Vehicle Wraps and Business Signs. Very special thanks goes out to the crew for the hard work and dedication.
Sims Crane & Equipment will also be participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Tampa Bay, and the Mary Helen will be along the route with family members and friends cheering on and encouraging those who are walking 60 miles over 3 Days to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer.
