subject: The Innovative Samsung Galaxy Nexus Provides Everything You Could Want From A Smartphone [print this page]

If you are in the market for a new smartphone, and you are looking for the most advanced technology available, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes highly recommended. The third instalment of the Google Nexus series, it offers the best in almost every aspect of its spec list. In this article, I will take a look at some of its key features, so you can decide if it is the right smartphone for you.

Camera

At 5 megapixels, the camera on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus may not have the highest pixel count, but this alone is not the only measure of a cameras picture quality. It has a high resolution and produces pleasing images. The video capture is also testament to is quality, with the ability to capture full HD (1080p) footage. Of course, there are many features included as part of the cameras software package. Autofocus, face detection, touch focus and LED flash are all included as standard so it is well equipped to suit the needs of the vast majority of users.

Screen

One of the most impressive features of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has to be its fantastic 4.65 inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. Measuring up at 4.65 inches, it is amply proportioned to provide a good user experience when operating the touchscreen aspect. This is the first smartphone we have seen which actually has a higher resolution than the iPhone 4 with its well known retina display. Therefore, the Samsung galaxy Nexus is the ideal handset for multimedia use, be it watching videos or viewing photos, playing games or browsing the internet. The screen supports multi-touch input which allows features such as pinch to zoom, along with accelerometer, proximity and gyro sensors.

Web Browsing

Surfing the internet is an important aspect of smartphone use for many, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is perfectly equipped for this task. Naturally, Wi-Fi connectivity is provided along with a Wi-Fi hotspot feature (allowing you to use a 3G connection to use the internet on other devices like laptops or tablets). When using a 3G connection, the speeds at which data can be downloaded are among the fastest on a smartphone, at 21 megabytes per second, putting it on par with handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S2.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has the software to match its impressive hardware, with the latest version of the Android OS (v4.0) called Ice Cream Sandwich. This is the first handset to showcase this version of the versatile smartphone platform. Alongside a powerful 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, a great user experience is assured.

Many smartphones tick all the boxes, but it is not often that one does so to the extent of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This is currently my recommended smartphone for those who are not won over by the like of the iPhone 4S or those who simply want the ultimate smartphone package.
