subject: The Mini Revolution Continues [print this page]

When BMW introduced the modern day MINI earlier on this century we knew that the MINI was going to be a big hit. It certainly has not disappointed, the MINI as a sub brand for BMW has done very well and now BMW is looking to exploit the brand and introduce more models. Recently we have seen the introduction of the CountryMan and the ClubMan, now BMW has launched the MINI Coupe with the Roadster arriving soon. This is can see is an aim to hit all the car shoppers in the market and give out something for everyone. Sometimes a family lifestyle would not suit the mini or if you are into a certain type of vehicle. With the addition of these new models to the range BMW can continue their aim to get a MINI in everyones life, an aim for car world domination!

There is no doubt that the modern day MINI has evolved from the original but it still has the uniqueness and quirkiness of the old one. With the number of derivatives being introduced I think it is quite safe to say that BMW will continue to exploit the MINI brand.

As I mentioned above the latest model to come out is the MINI Roadster, which as the name suggests is a 2 seater convertible. It is different from the MINI Cabriolet which has 4 seats; the Roadster has a lower and longer stance giving it a sporty look. The sporty car enthusiast will love this model and it combines youre style with the quirky and modern feel of the mini, a very young feel.

The MINI Roadster will use the latest BMW four cylinder petrol and diesel engines, power outputs will vary from 122 bhp to 211 bhp. The diesel engine will be the 143 bhp Cooper SD providing plenty of grunt whilst still being fuel efficient.

At launch the MINI Roadster will be available at MINI Manchester in a choice of 8 exterior colours, 2 non-metallic and 6 metallic. In keeping with British tradition the Roadster will have a black roof with sport stripes available in three different colours. It looks like you can grab the mini in your style pretty soon and really make this car your own from spec and paint colour to how you chose to fit it in with your life. The mini is seen as a fun car to be enjoyed and has been for many years, old style and new!
