New Christmas Traditions: Christmas Stories

Make your family story a new tradition at Christmas. Keep copies of your annual family Christmas card or letter, and read them out loud each Christmas. Or, read quotas the Night before Christmas or e Best Christmas Pageant Ever out loud to your kids the night or week before Christmas. Holiday traditions are about you as a unique family, warts and all. Sometimes new Christmas traditions start by accident and continue unattended; other times, you have to deliberately implement your new Christmas traditions. Either way, holiday traditions are a reassuring, fun, and healthy way to celebrate Christmas.

The fun of Christmas: Still in the midst of all - Have fun! Every year, has made a tradition of making one or more of the following fun activities: go sledding, make snowmen, go to the beach, skiing, skating, performance, cottages, is a Christmas movie and popcorn night , a large family or a neighborhood Christmas party gift exchange, etc. Maybe one night you can specifically set aside as the "the night before Christmas" and just being together. Get a Pizza, rent a movie, play, a campout in the living room, etc.

December Kick-off: Make the first day of December, the official day when the family begins the festivities of Christmas decorations. Do something hot cocoa, popcorn, turn on the Christmas music and bring the whole family. Decorate the house, set up the tree, and just spend the night playing games and have fun together.

Charles Dickens' book "A Christmas Carol", published in 1843 did much to revive the holiday that was to instill goodwill and compassion. Washington Irving also wrote short stories about Christmas and the Twas the Night before Christmas Book by Clement Clarke.
