Prevent this by cleaning them out With a leaf blower or sweeping down. If you do this make sure the leafs do not end up in the gutter. You want gutter to be clean for this season too.
The inspection is something you can do yourself, as mention before, but if you do not feel comfortable getting in top of your roof remember that there are roofing companies that can inspect your roof. Look for a reputable roof contractor that can perform a roof inspection. In some cases there is no cost to you.
