subject: The Truth About Making Your Dreams Come True [print this page]

Do you ever wish that a fairy godmother would just appear out of nowhere and change your life for the better? Do you fantasize about all your problems melting away with the wave of a magic wand? Just about everyones gone through such a period, when it seems that only a miracle could make all their hopes and dreams come to life. If youve ever felt dejected that circumstances have yet to make your dreams come true, then youre not alone.

The fact of the matter is, not even the largest and shiniest magic wand can do enough to change your life. The only way you can achieve your ultimate desires is through hard, dedicated work. If you want to achieve a successful career, healthy personal relationships, and an overall sense of wellbeing, it is up to you to figure out how to achieve these.

A man who just won the lottery or gained a surprise inheritance from some long-lost relative may seem like the luckiest guy alive. You may envy him greatly, wishing that you could be in his shoes in order to make your dreams come true. The thing is, yes, this man may start living the life right away, but do you think hell be truly happy in the end? He didnt particularly deserve the riches he received; it was all just dumb luck. Should he feel great about himself if he hasnt really done anything concretely to gain his wealth?

Now, take the man who worked his way to the top of a corporation, or the man who built his own multimillion-dollar empire from his own measly savings. Arent they more admirable than the guy who lucked out at the lottery? They made their own dreams come true. Would you rather make your dreams come true, or wait for nothing short of a miracle?

You have to get it into your head that a successful career and all those other things you hope for are your responsibility, and absolutely no one elses. Yes, there will be times when things get a bit tough, and you may be on the threshold of giving up. But such challenges are necessary, and once you get through them, the rewards are greater than you could ever imagine. Not only will all of your greatest goals see fruition, but you will also be fully aware that you made all your dreams come true out of sheer commitment and a ton of elbow grease.

Going back to the fairy godmother idea, keep in mind how Cinderellas carriage turned back into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight, and how all her fancy servants transformed back into mice and birds. In a sense, that will be your fate if you depend too greatly on random circumstances. Magic or in real-world terms, plain ol luck can only take you so far. Youll have to make the rest of your journey or all of your journey by yourself. And as long as you remember that this is the best way to go, then youll make it to the end just fine.
