subject: Booking Outside Of The City Centre To Get Great Hotel Deals [print this page]

he hotel accommodation located within the central areas of large cities like this can be incredibly pricy and you are guaranteed to pay an exorbitant amount for a room that will likely not be worth its price tag. When you book an overpriced hotel room in the centre of a large city, you are paying for the privilege of being right in the middle of the action.

However, this is not the only option. If you want to plan your holiday on a small budget you can save a lot of money and find cheap hotel rooms by widening your search area and looking at hotels outside of the city centre. In most major cities as soon as you start looking at hotel deals outside of the main downtown region you will notice that the prices drop dramatically. If you are willing to sacrifice the convenience of being right downtown, you can sometimes find hotel accommodation that is equal in quality but half the price of the central hotels.

The Advantages of Staying Outside of the City Centre

Most major cities such as London, Paris, Rome, and New York have an extensive and very efficient public transportation system. This means that even if you are staying in the outskirts of London in somewhere that offers cheap hotel rooms you can hop on the London Underground and be at Trafalgar Square within 10 or 15 minutes.

Staying outside of downtown usually means that you will be in a quieter area and will be able to sleep without the sound of car horns, people on the streets, and other nightlife noise.

Staying in a small neighbourhood will give you a chance to see a different side of a city that other tourists might miss, such as a lovely residential arrondissement of Paris. You will get a truer sense of what it is actually like to live in the city.

Staying outside of the tourist zone of downtown means that you will find the restaurants and bars that the locals go to and they will have much cheaper prices than those that are right in the heart of the city.

You are more likely to meet and make friends with local people, who can give you great tips and advice about visiting their city.

If you stay outside of the city centre, you will be able to enjoy a luxurious hotel room for the same price as a hotel room in the centre which would be much smaller and less comfortable.

There are many advantages to searching for cheap hotel rooms on the outskirts of the city. Next time you are booking a holiday in a large city, consider looking for hotel deals outside of the city centre.
