The temperature on the waste gas turbine side of the supercharger is about 600 . It is often working in high temperature condition. So the supercharger needs effective cooling and lubrication. Compared with the engine which is not equipped with a supercharger, the peak power output of the engine that has a supercharger can increase by 40% or even more. Besides, the fuel economy can be higher and the motor exhaust can be lower after the engine adopts the turbocharger technology. But there are, too, some problems when the engine adopts the turbocharger technology. For example, the maximum explosion pressure and mean temperature will dramatically increase when the engine is working, so both mechanical performance and lubricating performance of the engine are influenced. In order to keep supercharger engine working enduringly and reliably in the condition of relatively higher mechanical and thermal load, the engine needs some necessary changes in the choice of main thermodynamic parameters, structure design, material, technology and some other aspects. It is not just as easy as to add a supercharger to an engine. Because it is much difficult to put these changes into practices, and besides people also have to take the matching of the supercharger and the engine into consideration. So all these reasons mentioned above, to some extent, limit the application of wastegate bov technology.

1. For 1.8T engine, long time idle running should be prevented. Because idle running will cause the air pressure decreases too much in turbine and air compressor and the rotate speed of the supercharger shaft becomes too low, and this will lead to the lubricant oil penetrating into the turbine and the supercharger through sealing elements. The penetrating oil will pollute the impeller and increase the lubricant oil consumption. When the engine is started, the automobile should be immediately driven on the road, but in the beginning the rotate speed and running speed should not be too high. Generally speaking, it should be no more than 2000 turns, so that the high-speed rotor bearing can be lubricated completely.

2. The 1.8T engine can not be stopped immediately after a long time high speed and heavy load running. The engine should be slowed and working in low speed for about 2 minutes. That is because if the engine working in high speed is stopped abruptly, the pressure of machine oil will drop to 0 suddenly, but the supercharger rotor is still running inertially. The bearings and shafts may get damage because of the hot machine oil detained in the supercharger. So before stopping the engine, slow down the rotate speed and cool down the engine. Never stop the engine abruptly after flooring the gas pedal several times.

3. After the engine turbocharger started, especially in winter, please let it run idly for a while so that the bearings can get complete lubrication before the rotor of the supercharger running in high speed. So in case of damaging the oil seal of the supercharger please do not floor the gas pedal as soon as the engine is started.

4. If there is dust and oil on the outer edge of turbine supercharger, clean it immediately during cleaning the automobile. But be careful! Do not swash the water onto the engine when it is still hot so that the turbine supercharger will not be out of shape or even damaged because the water splashes on it.
