subject: Crossing Items Off Your Im "to-do" List [print this page]

When you work in Internet Marketing you need to be able to focus on whatever your main goals are (making money, building trust with your audience, getting better leads) and actually put in some real work to make those goals happen. This article will teach you how to build a great to-do list that will help you reach your goals.

Choose the Right Medium: Choosing the right medium for your to-do list needs to be a top priority if you want it to be successful. It will take time to figure out what is best for you but after you have figured out where your to-do list fits best, keep it there. For some people they are comfortable with the same old pen and notepad, while the others find it easy to maintain their to do list on their computer using of the many applications. You can even use one of the applications that has been created for your smart phone to do your to-do list. In order to truly get the most from your to-do list, you need to focus on finding a medium that you enjoy using. Add Tasks to Your List, Not Goals: One reason that so many Internet Marketers don't finish their lists is because the lists start to feel overwhelming. This is what happens when you add tasks that are inclusive enough to be bigger goals. Your to-do list should be full of tasks that help you work toward your main goal. These tasks need to be small enough so that they are easily achievable so that you can know without any doubts that you are moving toward your objectives. Also, the tasks that you add to your list have to give you clarity rather than making you feel vague. For example, "Get More Leads" is vague so it isn't really a task, but "Call 5 Prospects" is a task that is clear and easily achievable.

Have a Purpose: Knowing how it needs to end is incredibly important when you start writing and working on your to-do list. You'll have a far more difficult time reaching the end of your to-do list if you don't understand what the purpose of it all is. There's no point in working diligently at your to-do list day in and day out if you don't understand your primary purpose because there is a lot more to the thing than just crossing items off of it. So sit down, get some paper and write down your primary objective and then figure out how to accomplish it. If there is anything that deserves your time and attention as an Internet Marketer it is being able to get as much done as you can as quickly as you can and a good to-do list is the best first step for that.
