subject: Accessing Music Through Your Wireless Internet Connection [print this page]

The new millennium has seen a range of new electronics that have revolutionized the ways in which people access entertainment and music, including the iconic iPod. This MP3 player allows its user to store their entire music library for each access to listen while on-the-go. However, as smart phone become more and more popular, it offers you alternative ways to access music while you are mobile. With wireless internet, you can depend on this technology to enjoy all your favorite music without having to carry multiple electronic devices.

First, you can still store your MP3 and music library on your smart phone. Most smart phones have a decent storage capacity that enables you to store your playlists for your listening pleasure while you are out and about. Rather than have to carry your phone, your MP3 player, your calculator, or any other device, you can simply consolidate all these tools and gadgets into one single smart phone, whether that be an iPhone or Android. As you walk or drive to work, you can simply plug your smart phone in and listen to all your favorite songs.

However, with wireless internet, you can also access different ways to enjoy music throughout the day. Your music library might contain all your favorite jams; however, sometimes, you need a change. Online music radios, such as Pandora, offers you a way to listen to varied station without having to select each song as the previous ends or without having to create a playlist. With your wireless internet connection, you can simply download the Pandora application to allow for easy listening. You simply input the artist or song that you want to listen to and the online radio station will play other similar jams, including others selections from the same artist, or others in the same genre. This way, you can find other musical artists that you might enjoy, but might not have known about previously. From your smart phone, you can easily stream the music to help you pass the time.

Because mobile broadband technology streams items quickly, like the cable or DSL connection you have at home, you can easily stream music videos onto your phone. If you have time to kill while waiting for friends or while waiting for a meeting to start, rather than just listen to the music, you can watch the accompanying music video. It becomes a much more interactive experience that can keep you entertained during boring moments throughout the day.

Lastly, Shazam is a useful tool to help you figure out the name and artist of the song when you hear it, but cannot recognize who is singing it. The smart phone application records a snippet of the song and then uses your wireless connection to find the name and artist. The next time you hear a song you like, you wont need to frantically ask everyone around you for the name and artist. You can easily locate the name yourself and even download it from iTunes right then and there!
