subject: Unlock Your Lg Quantum [print this page]

The LG Quantum is an easy to use smartphone that comes with a complete QWERTY keyboard and notable hardware. It was released November 8 2010 on the AT&T Network. The phone can function on 2G networks (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) and 3G networks (HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100).

A number of important attributes on this cellular phone include a 1 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm QSD8650 Snapdragon chipset, 16 Gigabytes memory space, 512 Megabytes ROM, and 256 mb of RAM. It measures 119.5 x 59.5 x 15.2 millimeters, weighs in at 176 grams, has a 3.5 " (~267 ppi pixel density) TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors, 5 Megapixel autofocus LED flash camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, microusb v2.0, Gps, and functions on the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Operating-system.

If you bought this cellphone and have decided to change carrier, or maybe you are traveling and wish to use the phone with a different simcard, you'll have to unlock the phone. If you do not unlock it, an error message will be displayed on the cellphone the moment you put in a new simcard.

Below are the instructions you'll need to unlock your LG Quantum:

1. Insert a non-accepted simcard in your phone (a simcard that isn't from the original service provider).

2. Power on phone.

3. The phone will display "This sim card can only be used on specific networks. Contact your customer service center for the unlock code".

5. Type in your unlock code. In the event that you dont have an unlock code, have a look at the footer of this article for instructions on where you can get one.

5. Your phone is now unlocked.

Once your cell phone unlock code is entered and accepted, the phone is unlocked. Then you're able to insert a simcard from any other service provider and the phone should immediately pick up the network. Sometimes you might need to modify some options on your phone (email and other web affiliated services) by way of pointing them to your new provider.
