subject: Trade Law Based On A Trade Lawyer [print this page]

When I was in college for pre law I had a professor who was also among the best Trade Lawyer around. He was considered one of my best instructors during college because he had a fine comprehension on all of the subjects that he was discussing. At some point during one of our discussions he started mentioning how there were inadequate details and information found online about lawyers like him - with that I think he meant Trade Lawyer, that are entirely on text books as well as on the internet for that matter, not just that, he also indicated how unknown Trade Lawyers are. (I did my share of analysis after that and discovered that he was right). So I just need to let you know about the various things that I discovered throughout the discussion and through some study.

Well first of all as outlined by Wikipedia.org (considered one of my absolute favorite sources) Trade law, specifically International trade law includes the right principles and customs for handling trade between countries. Even so, it is also utilized in legal writings as trade between private sectors, which is not appropriate. This branch of law is now an independent field of study because most governments has grown to be part of the world trade, as members of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Since the contract between private sectors of different countries is important area of the WTO actions, this latter branch of law has become very significant portion of the academic works and is also under study in many universities around the globe.

According to a Trade Lawyer on the other hand, international trade law and international economic law should not be used interchangeably since they're two different and distinguished fields. International trade law as a department of international economic law as well as it will focus not only on the WTO or World Trade Organization yet it will even research on the administration of the international market similar to their money system which includes the regulation on their currency regulation and also the currency conversion plus the international development.

Did you know where the words name International trade law came from? Well, there were a lot of possible definitions but what I figured was the most useful would be the line from my favorite source which states that it came from 2 basic medieval laws known as lex mercatoria which actually means "the law for merchants on the land" and lex maritime which implies "the law of the merchants on the sea". The law on International trade that we know of today, however started right after the World War II, that has a simple treaty which later on was known as the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).

I am not knowledgeable on the issue and have a lot to discover, hopefully in time people would truly and completely understand how important a Trade Lawyer's task can be and how much they help structure and guide the business world each day.
