subject: Enjoy A Comfortable Camping Trip This Autumn [print this page]

Camping is an amazing way to experience the British countryside at its best, and it will definitely be one of the lowest priced holidays you have ever booked. You will be able to get close to nature and fend for yourself, and if you have children they will definitely love being able to run wild.

Not everyone sees camping as a comfortable holiday option though, and while sleeping in a tent is never going to compare with a 5 star graded luxury hotel there are ways that you can increase your comfort levels.

If you are going camping for the first time and are feeling a little sceptical its best to come prepared. If you are used to a nice firm mattress, fluffy pillows and a warming duvet, sleeping in a sleeping bag on the cold ground is definitely going to be a bit of a shock to the system. That is why you should get yourself either a camp bed or an airbed.

Whichever you choose, you will be kept warm and comfortable throughout the night and will be more than willing to do it again the next. If you decide to go for a camp bed pick a nice sturdy one, whereas for an airbed always remember to bring a foot pump with you.

Once your sleeping arrangements have been sorted you should move onto your actual tent. Unless you are borrowing one from a friend it is always a good idea to buy your own, as you will be able to use it again and again. Nowadays, you can get everything from a 1 man tent right up to an 8 man tent. Family tents also exist, and these come with bedrooms that are separated by zip-up compartments.

If you arent a fan of creepy crawlies get yourself a mosquito net that you can hang over your tent. This will stop any bugs from getting inside while you are sleeping, so you wont have to deal with them in the morning.

Campsites with shower facilities are now incredibly common, but if you happen to be staying at one without any facilities remember to take some dry body wash and shampoo with you so you wont feel too grungy during your holiday.

There are lots of other add-ons that are worth purchasing prior to your trip, such as a good set of earplugs in case your fellow campers are a bit rowdy, some windproof matches, a first aid kit, a pair of wellies and a waterproof coat.
