subject: Extracurricular Activities: Self Develop and Be Creative [print this page]

Many students think that extracurricular activities can be associated with different sports and future career opportunities. So, all students try to train their muscles or train some professional skills. Of course, they can be helpful for self-development and can become an extra advantage for your application forms or even resumes. If you want to realize some of your characteristic features and gain some pluses for your applications, you may get involved in a creative extracurricular activity. What can it be? It can be a puppet show or some dramatic circle or school theatrical company. The only thing you need to do is to be active! 1. Find people who can be interested in the same activity. You may use some cards or booklets to announce the creation of your little society. Write a few words about your future plans and activities. 2. Try to choose dedicated and responsible people. You should rely on each member of this society. However, you should not be too strict. Give a chance to all volunteers. Perhaps, some people who showed no bright achievements in any field could be helpful for your circle. 3. Work out (yourself or with the whole group) a script for your first (and then for your following) works. 4. Decide what you might need for your play: costumes, some settings. If it will be a puppet show, you will need to make puppets and settings or even some kind of stage. Try to make your setting portable you may need it. Do not be afraid if you and your friends (or colleagues) have to do everything with your hands. 5. Start rehearsals. Try to do your best to make your show/play perfect. 6. Finally, you should arrange your performances. You can perform in your own school, in other schools, in kindergartens, in orphans and old people's home. You can also take part in various fairs, concerts and shows. Be active. Everyone should know how good you and your society are.
