subject: SAC Furnace has manufactured the Korea's biggest Ferro Alloy EAF (electric arc furnace) [print this page] SAC furnace, furnace engineering company in Republic of Korea, has manufactured the Korea's biggest Ferro Alloy electric arc furnace for Dong-boo Metal.
Furnaces have different meanings in English. In America it is used to describe household heating system based on a central furnace. In UK, furnace means industrial furnaces which are used for many things, such as the extraction of metal from ore (smelting) or in oil refineries and other chemical plants. The heat energy to fuel a furnace may be supplied directly by fuel combustion, by electricity such as the electric arc furnace, or through Induction heating in induction furnaces.
To manufacture a furnace, technologies from chemistry, metal, electronics, mechanics and more are required. Especially EAF (electric arc furnace) is very complicated to manufacture that only about 10 companies in the world can manage to build it and SAC furnace is only one in Korea to manufacture such furnaces.
With this technology, SAC furnace managed to earn 120 billion won (100 million dollar) this year. Compare to last year's income, 60 million dollar, this is a great achievement. Last year they have founded a subsidiary company called SAC TNS. Japanese 2nd biggest gas company Osaka Gas decided to work with this subsidiary company because of SAC's future-oriented technology. Moreover, SAC furnace has been working closely with government's R&D resulting 18 patents.
Since their amounts of order are increasing, this year they have decided to increase their employment rate by 50%. The CEO of SAC Furnace, Hyung-ki Han, said their vision is to become the World's best eco-friendly energy company.
