subject: Affiliate Recruiting [print this page] OK! You finally have a product that is achieving some success and you believe it could move forward if you were able to widen the distribution path by establishing an affiliate program.
Good Idea! But how does one go about setting up a good Affiliate Program? Following will be a few ideas that you may find helpful in doing so.
1. First, set up your program. What will be the structure? Will there be sub affiliates? How much commission will you pay? Make it substantial otherwise it will be difficult to find good affiliates. Will you provide advertising materials? If so, what kind? This first step is super important so don't go any further until you have it firmly structured and in place.
2 Now that you have the program set up where are you going to find interested and potential affiliate partners.
3. Your list. I'm assuming you have established a mailing/subscriber list and if you have this is a ready made source for affiliate recruiting. Send out a message soliciting their participation and be sure to provide the basics of your program and make it simple and easy to understand.
4. Rent a List. If you don't have your own list you can rent one at a fairly decent cost and target it specifically . Make sure you purchase it from a reliable ligitimate firm and that it is a confirmed double opt-in list. You don't want to be accused os spamming, it's not worth it.
5. Forums. Do you belong to any Forums? Let's assume you do so here is another excellent source for recruitment. The Warrior forum would be a good one to make a post to requesting members to join you affiliate program.
6. Your Blog. I'm going to assume again you have a blog. This is a really good communication tool to get your message out. You can repeat your request in periodic schedule but be sure to not to over do it to the point of irration to your readers.
7. Blog Comments. If you follow some blogs you can make comments and include your need for affiliates at the same time. However, make your comments appropriate and don't abuse the opportunity.
8. Social Websites. Such as Twitter, Facebook and others. If you are active in these social outlets make sure you use them to your advantage.
In conclusion, take your time and build your affiliate program in a planned mentodical way. Be professional at all times and be sure to live up to and support the program you have put in place.
