subject: Taking Good Action Using Your To-do List [print this page]

The Internet marketing business model is a difficult one for people who want to start with nothing and grow their business into something major. Of course, if you know how to properly focus on your goals and get things done, you will be way ahead of the game. Here are some of the tips that you can use to get more accomplished with your to-do list.

Clear Your Schedule: It's amazing how much you can accomplish when you dedicate a big chunk of your time to something so that you can really concentrate on it instead of dedicating a few minutes to it here and there. After you've accomplished the errands and distractions that eat up your mornings, you'll find it's much easier to get through your to-do list because you'll have an added boost of energy knowing that you have time to get things done. If you don't clear your schedule it won't take much at all for you to get distracted from finishing your to-do list. Start off by creating a list of errands that you can take care of once you're done with your day, so that they don't come in between when you're trying to make your day more productive and effective in the long run. Add Tasks to Your List, Not Goals: Perhaps the reason that most Internet Marketers fail to finish their to-do lists is because they start to feel overwhelmed. This usually occurs when your list contains individual tasks that are goals by themselves. A to-do list needs to contain a list of tasks that can actually help you achieve your primary goals. You should make these tasks small enough that you can actually finish them relatively quickly and feel that you are actually moving ahead so that you can reach your end goals. You need to make sure, too, that your tasks are clear and not murky. For example, "Get More Leads" is vague and overwhelming but "Call 5 Prospects" is clearly defined and something that can easily be done.

Start Your Day with Your To-Do List: A great way to make sure that your list gets completed is to start your day using it. It's true; if you get into the habit of sitting down and writing out your to-do list first thing every day, you will have a lot more energetic about making sure that you stick to the list and complete it. Since your productivity is the highest when you start off your day, you should be able to get your to do list organized in the best possible way. Ultimately what matters most is how well you can create your daily to-do list and how well you can actually accomplish the tasks on it each day. To-do lists are just a way to plan your day and making sure to enhance your productivity so it makes sense, then, that you create your list in the beginning of your day.

Finally, the direction that you decide to move in needs to be very clear so that you know how to put in some real and regular action and feel, at the end of each day, like you have accomplished something as you finish each item on your to-do list.
