The report shows that HTC has become the largest U.S. smart phone manufacturer. While Samsung's performance is still strong and iIt has become the world's largest smart phone manufacturer. Overall, the global smart phone sales will continue to grow. In the third quarter, the shipments grew 49 percent to 120.4 million units.

Samsung's shipments of the own-brand smart phones in the third quarter are 27.3 million units, an increase of 252%, accounting for 23% of the smart phone market. Samsung has become the first in Asia-Pacific region, Western Europe and Latin America, respectively exceeding the previous champion Nokia, Apple and RIM.

Driven by the hot sales of a number of Samsung's smart phone products in the world, including Galaxy S II, its third-quarter shipments of smart phones are the second highest in the history of the smart phone, second only to Nokia's shipments in the fourth quarter of 2010. In addition, Samsung also shipped nearly 50 million units of smart phones under the brand of Google and T-Mobile.

In the U.S., HTC has become the champion of smart phone shipments in the third quarter, surpassing Apple and Samsung. HTC's own brand in the United States shipped 5.7 million units, accounting for about a quarter of the U.S. market. In addition about 70,000 units are sold under the T-Mobile brand.

This is really a remarkable achievement for HTC. In just a few years it has set up its own brand in the competitive market. In the 4G Android products, HTC's performance is very strong. HTC in all major carriers launched very attractive Android platform-based and unique smart phones.

In addition, Samsung's rise in the U.S. market makes Apple ranks in the third place. In the third quarter, Samsung's own brand of smart phones shipped 4.9 million units in the United States, while Apple's shipments were only 4.6 million units.

In the third quarter, RIM is still in a difficult situation. Its sales fell 58% in the U.S. market. Its market share declined from 24% in the third quarter of 2010 all the way down to the current 9%.
