subject: Beautify Your Yard With Proper Tree Care [print this page]

I'm a huge lover of plantsI'm a huge lover of plants. Having grown up in the Evergreen State, I've spent most of my life being spoiled by natural beauty in the form of beautiful foliage all around me.

Now that I've moved away from my hometown, I've been working hard to keep myself surrounded by that kind of natural beauty, but it turns out that not all climates are created equal, and I've discovered that it's important to do your research on tree care in Ann Arbor so that you can give your plants what they need in order to flourish.

So far I've been really successful when it comes to growing house plants, and even when it comes to creating a beautiful aesthetically pleasing flower bed out in our front yard.

Our house is full of a variety of plants that do well all year long, and I have to admit that I'm quite proud of what I've done with our flower bed. We have rose bushes, crocuses, daffodils, tulips, and irises so that our yard always has a little bit of extra color from spring until fall.

Our trees on the other hand haven't done quite so well. I bought a little bonsai tree go grow in my house and it died less than a year later. When we moved into our home, the only tree that we had was a small maple out in the front yard that blew over in a wind storm a few months later.

This year we decided that we definitely need some trees in our yard. We started small, and I mean really small. Lowe's hardware store had an advertisement saying that they were giving away free trees for earth day.

I was excited to take advantage of that, but it turned out all they were giving out were little tiny saplings. I planted mine with high hopes and thought that I was doing a good job taking care of it, but it wasn't able to survive the heat of our harsh summer.

We bought ourselves two pear trees for our front yard and a peach tree for our back yard this past spring. Unfortunately our plan to plant the peach tree in an area that gets plenty of water in our yard backfired the weekend after the tree was planted. We had a huge rain storm come through, and pretty soon we had a huge puddle around our tree that nearly drowned it.

Trees are a beautiful asset to any yard, but they're also a bit of an investment. Make sure that before you plant your tree you learn a little bit about tree care in Ann Arbor so that it will grow into all that you want it to be.
