subject: There Are So Many Options When It Comes To Educational Technology [print this page]

Every school or educational body will have their budget to consider and making the most use of money is of vital importance to a school. There are obviously not unlimited funds so everybody or council has to make tough choices and inevitably, some will look for the cheaper options in order to get more of what they choose. This is certainly an approach that some will favour but in reality, it can often be a false economy with people losing out on money or services in the long run by having this approach to life. Looking for value for money is always a better guide and even though this may mean buying something more expensive, it can bring about a greater range of benefits to all concerned.

This is definitely the case with educational technology products which are transforming the way that pupils learn in school. There are so many different educational technology products to choose from, which can add a slight complication to the final buying decisions, but it does mean that every budget should be able to find something that will be of benefit to the pupils that they serve. It has to be said that interactive whiteboards are a great purchase for any school and will really bring the learning process to life for many pupils.

If the school has a large budget, an interactive whiteboard for every class may be a good idea but many schools may decide this is not viable for them. There is no reason why one or two educational technology products like interactive whiteboards cannot be bought because they have a great deal of flexibility in their use. One class may see young children doing mathematical equations on the whiteboard whereas the next lesson may see a group of older pupils learning about the solar system through an interactive lesson where they examine the planets orbiting around the sun. Interactive whiteboards can be used in all different ways and their flexibility highlights the strength of using educational technology products.

However, simpler products like microphones which allow teachers or pupils to project their voice to an entire classroom can be a great way to help people gain confidence. Being heard is one of the most difficult parts of presenting for some pupils so the use of educational technology can ensure that being timid or showing a level of shyness can be overcome, hopefully allowing the quality of the work to shine through in the correct fashion.
