subject: Solar Pir Lights For The Garden. [print this page]

The Solar industry is now offering a wide choice of products for our garden that uses the suns energy. From Solar Security PIR lights and Pathway Marker that come on as we walk to our door to Solar powered Water Features and Pond Pumps that offer that tranquil sound of running water and encourage wildlife.

There have been many improvements in solar efficiency over recent years, mainly driven from the investment in solar energy generation, and these improvements can also be seen in the products we buy for our enjoyment in the garden. We can now buy products using Solar on Demand technology that allows us to store the suns energy during the day and turn it on when we want to enjoy our product at night.

Product design has also improved. As well as the traditional post lights placed to light up our garden at night, products are now designed as features themselves. Hanging Solar Lanterns or Solar Table Lights are available to brighten the decking or patio area or Solar String Lights to drape around our shrubs. Even Garden Statues now have solar lights built in so you can still enjoy them at night. There are also many Solar Water Features available including ceramic pot cascades, natural slate fountains and birdbaths using underwater solar panels.

Using solar in the garden can also be practical. Solar Security PIR lights or Utility Lights are easy to install in the shed or those areas where you need light but dont have mains electricity. Even if there is electricity, why pay for an electrician to install or pay to run the light when the suns energy is free?

PIR lights arent a new product development. PIR, or passive infra-red, has been used for many years as a feature on mains connected security lights and it has now been included on solar products as well. PIR isnt only available on security lights either, solar pathway markers and wall lights use the feature so they can store the suns energy during the day and only release it when we need it as we walk up the garden path or to our front door.
