subject: Ugly Stik - Background Speaks For Itself [print this page]

To start, if you go fishing much at all, Ugly Stik probably will ring a bell. If you have not, if you fish long enough you're going to hear this name some time or another. Regardless, The Ugly Stik fishing rod is created by Shakespeare. It has been over a 100 years since the Shakespeare business came into existence and fishing equipment happens to be their specialty ever since.

The Ugly Stik has been on the market a long time and I briefly touched on the history of Shakespeare because it is important to realize just how long it's been around. For the price, it is definitely the best fishing rod you can buy, but we will talk more about that later on. The Ugly Stik came into existence back in 1976 and actually got popular in the 1980's. It very quickly was recognized because of its reliability and toughness due to the fact these rods are difficult to break. The best example I could give is a story concerning myself. I was a kid in the 1980's and I bought my first Ugly Stik casting rod when I was eight years young. This was sometime in 1989. Anyway, every Friday night when I fish in local bass tourney, I still use that same rod. Now, personally, It is simply amazing to me that I have gotten twenty years and counting out of this fishing rod! If you disagree, then what rod do you fish with?

Saying this earlier, for the price you will not find a better rod. How can you make a rod that is so durable and full of quality that is cheap? Well, when the product that you have been making for a long time has been selling and selling, the price can be dropped because you know you are going to sell a lot of volume. The Ugly Stik is exactly that! Shakespeare knows their customers are going to buy it because they know they are getting a dependable, quality rod. For women, children, amateurs, and even pros, the Ugly Stik has set the standard in fishing rods. If you find it hard to believe that then there is no better example than myself. I have fished with one of my Ugly Stiks for over twenty years and I have done so as a child, as an amateur, and now still not a professional, but without a doubt a fisherman who has been out on the water more than just a few times. Try one out and see for yourself. I know it will not break the pocket book like so many other rods will!
