subject: What Is Injection-blow Molding [print this page]

Injection-blow molding is use method of injection molding made plastic of a parison in first, and make the parison into a blow mold for blow molding. It needs to use the injection molding machine and blow molding machine.

The advantages of injection-blow molding:

1. The melt is injected into the parison mold cavity during the week to be certain orientation effect. In addition, the parison extrusion blow molding temperature is low, inflation resulting orientation effect can more reserved, which helps to improve the strength of the container properties.

2. the container size high precision: required to ensure easier to vessel wall thickness uniformity, container size uniformity.

3. Do not form a joint of the container, does not need trimming, generally do not produce scrap.

4. The container gloss degree is high, made of transparent polymer molding container is transparent.

5. Blow molding machine can be arranged on the sliding bottom module, so the container bottom shape of greater design flexibility.

6. More suitable for forming hard plastic container with a wide mouth container.

The defect of injection-blow molding:

1. Can only blow molding of small hollow container.

2. Only suitable for blow molding shape compared to simple container

3. Do not blow molding container with handle.

4. Mold manufacturing requirements.

5. In some cases the tube to heat only after the blow molding.

Injection blow molding process is divided into two stages:

The first stage, from injection molding machine will melt is injected with air blowing core tube billet mold molding tube, open mold, tube with core tube to blow molding machine.

The second stage, closing the blow mold, compressed air into the core tube blowing tube molding, cooling stereotypes die out products.

Injection-blow molding can be used for production of daily necessities, cosmetics, medicine, food and other packaging container. But the volume of not more than 2 litres, commonly used plastic PE, PS and PVC etc.
