Gymnasiums or gyms as they are more popularly known as today have become one of the preferred options to go to by those who wish to stay fit and in a good shape. Gone are the days when the fitness machines like the tread mill or the cycling machine used to be the symbol of one's status and used to adorn the rooms or gymnasiums of the rich and powerful only. Today, with technology making everything easier and more accessible, more and more homes today boast of having either one or multiple fitness equipments. In fact, there are also homes that have their own gymnasium complete with all the modern and latest fitness equipments. Used by people of all age group, fitness equipments have indeed become a commodity of demand these days.
One such popular fitness equipment is the treadmill that has been in use since quite some time. A treadmill is an exercise machine that is used for running or walking while staying in one place. This is probably the biggest advantage of the treadmill and the reason for its growing popularity; its ability to make people jog or walk without going out in the sun or in the polluted environment. A treadmill is a machine that is provided with a moving platform with a wide conveyor belt and an electric motor or a flywheel. The mechanism of the treadmill is that the conveyor belt moves behind as the person using it switches it on, hence allowing the person to move forward with necessarily an equal velocity. The rate at which the belt moves is the rate of running or walking and hence, the speed at which a person wants to do his exercise can be adjusted. The treadmills can be found in varieties. While the more expensive treadmills are driven by an electric motor, the cheaper version of the treadmill moves only when the walker pushes the belt with his feet.
Thus, with multiple options available in treadmills too, the customers can take their picks from the kind and variety of treadmill that they feel is needed by them and will fit their budget.
