subject: Important Things To Look At When Selecting Your Hotel [print this page]

Traveling can be exhilarating and exciting and a lot of fun, but it can also be strenuous. Not just the dealings you need to have with the airport and the flying, but getting everything all set to go in the first place can up the stress level higher than normal. But after all of the strains of the day, whether it's the flight or the cab ride to the hotel, the one thing that you want is a comfy place to spend the night.

You want that hotel room to not have any surprises and you want that hotel room to do exactly as advertised-which is to say it should be clean, comfortable and peaceful. You expect everything to be clean from the guests that were there before you, actually, you should never even be able to tell that there were any guests before you in that room. You should always feel as if you're the first paying customer to ever stay the night in that room.

You want the bathroom and the furniture and the sheets to be clean. One thing that people frequently forget is that a lot of hotel chains do not wash the heavy comforters and bed covers every time the room is changed out. They wash the blankets and sheets, and so the first thing you should always do is pull off the covers and put them away in the closet. If you are cold or feel like you will need extra blankets, there's typically an extra one in the closet or you can ring the front desk for one.

You can always be sure that the blankets are washed after every guest. After cleanliness, which really is the most important thing to most guests, is comfort. You want a comfortable mattress with good quality sheets and pillows. You don't want the absolute cheapest things available, however understand that these things can almost never be as comfortable as the kinds you have in your own home.

First of all, the ones that you have in your home would never be able to take the abuse, the wear and tear that they have to go through because of so much use and washings. That is why everything from the towels to the chair in the room feels as if it was built for utilitarian reasons and not comforts reasons. They are serviceable and will get the job done, but not as good as the ones at home.
