To aid in ease of care, pick those which are suited for the soil, temperature, sun and shade.

If you live in an area where droughts are frequent, make sure you are planting drought resistant vegetables since it does not eat up that much water and can withstand dry weather.

You should determine how much space you have. Write it out on paper to visualize your vegetables.

You should mulch your vegetables with organic material. You can use manure, grass clippings, raked up leaves, and/or food scraps to create your compost heap. Apart from preventing the weeds to grow, it provides the necessary organic decay and nutrients and preserves water.

The best part is that you don't have to dig deep to put these in because 85% of the vegetable's roots are found in the top 6 inches of soil.

Aside from compost, you can also use natural fertilizers and organic material to help the vegetables grow. They also encourage worms, which are nature's tillers and soil treaters.

Pests are a major concern in a garden, they will rot your vegetables. To get rid of them, you should use other insects, birds, frogs. Crops impacted by spray infected stems and help dilute soapy water.

If you buy vegetables at the store, they will come to you in some form of plastic container. When removing them from a container that you have grown them in, use care not to tear the outside roots.

If you are growing your own vegetables, it is a good idea to plant multiple types because this draws insects to your garden.

Believe it or not, only 2 percent of the insects in the world are harmful. That says that the remainder of them are actually helpful. A Few examples of these include fireflies, ladybugs, spiders, praying mantis and wasps since they eat the insects that eat your veggies. Another thing they do is pollinate the plants and decompose organic matter.

Remember to stay on top of keeping your garden weed free. You can hand weed, or spray right on the weed with full strength vinegar. Best of all, it is safe for the environment.

Be sure to rotate your crops. If you do this then the soil will remain permanently fertile. When initially planting, avoid deep cultivation as this will damage the root system and dry out the soil.

If you follow these tips, you will surely be able to have a successful organic vegetable garden. They can be sown and harvested throughout the whole year so you will not have to buy these things in the market after that. That is assuming of course you have a huge parcel of land to work with.
