subject: Facial Scrubs, The Secret To A Smooth Shave? [print this page]

The skin on your face is more delicate than the skin on other parts of your body, and because your face sees a lot of wear and tear, it requires special attention when it comes to skincare. For this reason, an exfoliating facial scrub which has been designed specifically for use on the face should be used.

There are several other benefits to using a face scrub in skin care, here a just a few;

Scrubs work by removing dead skin, and leaving behind a layer of younger, healthier skin and getting rid of deep impurities. Regular use of an exfoliate can keep skin smooth and glowing, by constantly exposing new skin in this way, face scrubs can help get rid of stubborn blackheads in this way too!

Using the face scrub right before shaving will help to get the closest shave possible. The face scrub will help you get a close shave by eliminating the dead skin around beard hairs as well as lifting them away from the face so that it will be easier to shave them.

Many scrubs have essential oils and other moisturizers in them to help open and cleanse pores as well as helping to moisten skin lessening skin irritation and dryness.

Be careful not to over exfoliate your skin! Over exfoliation can result in dry and irritated skin. Be sure your scrub has a moisturizer or essential oil and that you don't over use the scrub. Aside from just being uncomfortable, dry and irritated skin can make it harder to shave, and lead to wrinkles.

Using a scrub is simple, but make sure you don't miss these three easy steps.

Rinse

Rinse your face with as warm of water as you can, this will help to loose dirt and open pores, making it easier for the scrub to do its deep cleaning job.

Lather

Apply about a quarter sized amount of product, and using small circular motions, massage on to the skin for approximately one minute. Take your time on this step, the longer the product is in contact with your skin the more effective it can be.

Rinse

This time use cold water to close your pours, and then pat dry to avoid irritating your skin.

Ideally you should use a facial scrub one to two times per week. This way, the scrub can provide the best results without over exfoliating. Remember that every time you wet shave, you are actually exfoliating as well.
