subject: Which Anti Slip Tapes Are Best For Your Needs? [print this page]

Anyone can slip and fall at any time - it's simply a fact of life that things like this happen. But the good news is that you can vastly reduce the chances of slips and trips happening simply by using anti slip tapes to make certain areas safer. Anti slip coatings can also be used to highlight slippery areas, making people aware that they are there. Without them there would be a lot more accidents than actually occur.

The important thing is to choose the right kind of tapes for the area you are putting them in. For instance a wet area around a swimming pool is obviously going to require a different tape to an area that only has a light degree of foot traffic crossing it on a regular basis.

So the first things to think about are the areas where you need to use your anti slip tapes. If you need them for more than one area you can make a list of the appropriate places. It might also be a good idea to consider how much tape you will need for each area. Some areas may require more than one row of tape for maximum effect for example, so consider this when you are measuring up.

Once you know what is required in terms of the amount of tape and where you want to put it, you can consider which anti slip coatings to put in each area. Sometimes the choice will be obvious. For example areas that are used for food preparation must have a particular tape that is designed for use in such an area. Foodsafe tape is ideal in this case because it does not allow for any bacteria to congregate in any tricky areas.

Another example of an obvious type of tape to be used in some areas is tape that is ideal for wet areas such as swimming pools and their changing rooms. In this situation you need to have tape that will withstand the use of water.

But there will be other situations where the kind of anti slip tapes you need will not be as obvious. In these cases you have to consider the amount of footfall you will get in a particular area. If you have an area that is constantly walked on by people all day long, you will need to look for anti slip coatings that are stronger and coarser than others. These will be able to withstand a lot of action on a daily basis. Areas that are less frequently walked on will be better suited to regular grade anti slip tapes.

You can see therefore that making the right choice for each area is very important indeed.
