subject: Best Of All Worlds: Overview Of The Subaru Tribeca [print this page]

The Subaru Tribeca is the brands first medium-sized sports utility vehicle (SUV). A relatively new addition to the world of crossover SUVs, The Subaru Tribeca has more mass and height than that of Subarus other sports utility vehicles. When it first came out, it was meant to be an alternative to the other more established medium-sized crossover sports utility vehicles and more upscale brands already out on the market.

The Subaru Tribeca, available at Subaru Ottawa based dealers, was successful in doing just that. With a first-rate look and feel, it is truly a great alternative vehicle. Though not really in the mainstream, the Subaru Tribeca belongs among the top crossover sports utility vehicles in the market. For dedicated Subaru fans and consumers alike, this medium-sized crossover SUV deserves to be on your list of considerations.

The platform used for the Subaru Tribeca is a stretched and widened version of the past platforms of the Subaru Outback and Legacy. The three trim levels available are the Premium, Limited and the Touring. All trims are designed to seat up to seven passengers.

The lowest trim, the Premium, comes standard with power front sears, automatic climate control, and eighteen-inch alloy wheels. The next trim, the Limited, comes with satellite radio, a ten speaker audio system, open wireless technology, front seat memory presets, heated front seats, and leather seating. Meanwhile, the top trim, the Touring, adds a backup camera, a sunroof, and xenon headlights. Additional enhancements include a rear parking camera, a navigation system, and rear entertainment. Some features are similar to a Nissan Murano, available at Nissan Ottawa based dealers.

A 3.6 six-cylinder engine powers the Subaru Tribeca. It generates 25 horsepower and 247 pound feet of torque. Of course, Subarus trademark all-wheel drive splits the power 45/55, front to rear, in standard situations. All trims come with a five speed automatic transmission with manual shifting and sport mode. The cabin looks smooth and superior just like a Subaru should be. The center screen display with all the climate, audio, and navigation information is the cherry on top of the sundae. It is truly a magnificent piece.

The current Subaru Tribeca is definitely better than its earlier inceptions. Though the engine can be a bit noisy when it is driven on the highway, it ensures a smooth ride. Just like the Toyota Highlander, available at Toyota Ottawa based dealers, the Subaru Tribeca decent crossover with awesome capability.
