subject: The concept of self-confidence [print this page] The concept of self-confidence relates to self-assuredness in someone's personal judgment, power and abilities. Sometimes this can be notably excessive, We have all seen someone who shows off and thinks they're it and a bit! This however it not what self-confidence is about.
A better definition is the belief, in believing in yourself. To believe that you are capable of being able to achieve what you set out to do, to overcome any challenges or obstacles that get in your way.
To attain self-confidence, you must have the mindset that no matter what the problem might be, that you will work as hard as you can to help yourself and then try even harder.
You also need to acknowledge that your efforts may not always be successful or as rewarding as you would have hoped for, nobody is perfect! But with the philosophy of where there's a will there's a way, you will find a way to accomplish what you set out to do. It may take some time, patience and sacrifices to get there, however the end results will be worth it.
The feeling of knowing you did your best when the odds where against you, can be enough of a reward, the feeling of actually achieving success through your own devoted hard work, even better. Either way your self-confidence will be boosted enormously knowing that it was you who believed in yourself and that you were capable.
If you run into a seemingly impossible or insurmountable problem, hack at it a piece at a time, break it down into little pieces and demolish it. A smaller part of the problem may be easier to deal with, when you have dealt with that piece move on to the next and so on until you get there. Never Ever give up, Ever.
