Federal tax rebates are added sources of finances for every taxpayer. These are levies that were excessively charged and witheld in advance by the government like the witholding taxes on income. There are other taxes that are refunded by the state to encourage their citizens to follow government policy. The best model is the American Recovery and Reinvestment of 2009 that reimburses taxpayers that meet the State's requirement for those who acquired new star labeled efficient appliances their old high power consuming units.

Under the Approved Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate programs, the government has extended tax rebates on appliances purchased by taxpayer as follows:

1. Ten percent of cost or a maximum of $500 or specific expenses of $50 to $300 on biomass stove, HVAC, insulation and roofs from metals and asphalt components.

2. Thirty-percent (30%) without ceiling on existing homes andnew construction for geothermal heat pumps, small wind turbines for residential and solar energy systems as long as they use their houses their primary homes.

3. Thirty-percent (30%) of cost up to $500 per .5kw of power capacity for both existing residential homes and new construction with the exception as second homes and for rentals. The tax basis is the costs in acquiring fuel cells.

To avail the above federal tax rebates, it involves a lot of requirements. A close coordination with the State Department of Energy that recommended the list of energy star labeled appliances is necessary. These were choosen by each state to identify the tax rebate status of every applicant taxpayer.

For income tax rebates which are the popular subjects of tax rebate estimator, it is a fact that not all tax rebate checks are issued by the IRS immediately. The IRS has a tracking system that could be accessed for the tax rebate status, in case after a month from filing the check is not received. The other federal tax rebates were the tax rebate checks released by the government under the stimulus package to aid its poor and average-income earning citizens to lessen their financial hardships during the economic crisis.
