subject: Things Photoshop Does Well, And We Need To Keep [print this page] Clipping masks Clipping masks
Size and to "clip" the ability to create an image workflow is fundamental to me, as I imagine it is for everyone. Clipping masks to create an image for a defined shape and "harvest" recompose will allow. Photoshop editing it in really well with the remainder of the original size is at all times. It works at least as well as it is needed in Photoshop.
Great way to deal with
Photoshop like a pro pro tools designers need to deal with. Real, handling basic types available for apps within OS X is not scratched. Beat in TextEdit order t to see what I mean. Again though, the page does this much better, so maybe that's all there is under the hood.
Rulers and Guides
You pixel perfect layout, the rulers have such great support, Guides and Smart Guides is a must.
Apps that show promise
Getting closer to this ideal is in fact there are tools out there, but I legitimately do anything that I could move to Photoshop is not found. Sure, there are apps which, if pushed, I could use to create a website, but with all respect to design some pretty fundamental flaws.
Apple Pages
I talked a lot about the article page, and with good reason. Wireframing and offers all the documents in my page, and it does it very well. I actually use very detailed document which is required for spit and polish can make pro. Its basically a cut down the InDesign or QuarkXPress.
However, the downside is that it is not completely set for digital use.
Pixelmator
This is another great app, which essentially is in many ways mimics the Photoshop interface. A pinch you Pixelmator (I've tried) to make a website layout, but you quickly type device restrictions and lack of editable vector shapes against the bumping.
Sketch
I tried it recently, and it is a wonderful drawing tool."Infinite canvas" concept drawing, but is not designed to be great. It fails also is rock solid, and clipping masks for your support I was very wrong.
