subject: Telluride Jacket Review [print this page] Unless you live in always 70 degrees and sunnySouthern California, theres a good chance youre going to run into less than perfect weather while out on a ride. If youre out for a long day, it can go from warm and enjoyable to cold and unbearable rather quickly. The majority of jackets on the market do not cater to this kind of environment. However, the AGVSPORT Telluride jacket will perform great in all conditions.
One of AGV Sports Groups secrets is the YKK-zippered vents that are placed over the collarbone which include large soft scoops to direct cool air into the jacket. The scoops open wider as the rider increases speed. In order for air to flow through the Telluride, AGV Sports Group also placed dual closeable vertical vents on the back of the jacket. These features make the Telluride great for warm weather riding.
As day turns to night and temperatures begin to fall, closing the Tellulrides vents and tightening the Velcro-closures on the wrist make a drastic difference in terms of warmth. If you know youre going to be riding in the cold weather for an extended period of time, a warm quilted liner is also available.
It always seems difficult to install these liners; however, AGV Sport does a good job on the Telluride. The main torso portion zips in, and then two button/elastic-loop couplers at each wrist and the back are joined. When the liner is in place it can keep the rider warm at highway speeds while temperatures drop into the 40s.
Any rider knows that unexpected rain can ruin the day if you are not prepared. However, the Tellurides waterproof and breathable Reissa Membrane which is incorporated into the jackets construction will keep you dry.
The fit of the Telluride is great, and the comfort level did not change throughout testing, or the 400 mile voyage it accompanied us on. The Velcro tabs and multiple IRC buttons allowed the jacket to conform perfectly to our size. As this is intended to be a touring jacket, there is ample storage room. There are four pockets, two of which are big enough to fit the matching set of Telluride gloves.
Although simple in construction, the AGV Sport Telluride jacket does its job in temperatures ranging from 100 degrees to 40 degrees.
