subject: MLM Opportunities That Break You [print this page] There are thousands of MLM opportunities out there and not all of them are safe. Before you get into one make sure it's the right one for you and you're getting into it for the right reasons. Do some research and decide first if you are willing to sacrifice the start up costs and monthly expenses while still not seeing a profit for at least a couple of months. If you find the products useful and fit within your budget then you have to decide if this is the best one for you and your family.
Many MLM opportunities will promise you big returns and that justifies why their product prices are so high. Be careful of these ones. If you don't have the stat up cost to get into your friends or relatives new business opportunity but you feel that "with their help, I should be able to break even in the first month and the rest is profit." Then it will break you. You will regret singing up and you will resent that friend or relative that pushed you into it in the first place.
Don't be persuaded with the high returns of some of these MLM opportunities, although some of them are totally legit and will provide what they promise, you have to understand that it doesn't happen overnight. If you sing up for $3500 let's say, and you're hoping to make that back in the first month then you may have to take time away from your job, purchase phone leads, make hundreds of cold calls, set up a booth at trade show and purchase advertising in newspapers. Not to mention meet your monthly quota of products that you must sell. All of these are expenses on top of your $3500 registration fee. If you're not willing to sacrifice all of that, and you aren't passionate about your business, then please reconsider this MLM opportunity.
If you are already an established network marketer, and have a solid downline and you are not happy with your current company then perhaps you can pursue other MLM opportunities with higher start up costs and higher returns and bring your downline with you. That way you will start in the positive and not have to go those months with negative profit and start recruiting from scratch again.
However if you are just starting out and you don't know how to recruit or maintain your downline then some of these MLM opportunities will break your bank account. It would be better to find a low start up cost one and work on it in your spare time. That way your sacrifice is low and you can determine if it's right for you.
