subject: Can You Sell Your Home Faster By Offering It For Sale Yourself? [print this page]

I've discovered that what slows down the process whenever I want to sell my home fast is waiting for other people to do their jobs. Landscapers have schedules every bit as much as lawyers have schedules. If a person in business is successful, that means he or she has plenty of customers and I will probably have to get in line to get my yard trimmed or get my legal paperwork handled if I don't choose to do those tasks myself. That's just the way it works, right? If you hire a professional to do a job for you, it's possible you'll be waiting quite a while for them to get the job done. The same thing applies to real estate professionals as well. Agents and brokers, as well as inspectors and mortgage lenders all have their own schedules, and sometimes those schedules don't match up with what I need.

Nothing I'm sharing in this article is critical, it's simply factual. When other people are busy, I find that taking personal responsibility in order to sell my home fast is the best way to accomplish my goal. I learned this lesson many years ago, and as a result I developed a pattern I slip into when the time comes to get my home ready to sell. Rather than immediately look around for somebody else to list my home, to advertise it and show it, I get ready to do those things myself. And I start by assessing the best type of buyer for a particular home at a particular time. All homes are not in the same condition, as we all know. Giving consideration to the condition of the home, and then also giving consideration to the marketplace and looking at both of those situations together gives me the clearest picture of what I need to do to sell my house fast.

Generally I get busy cleaning and fixing up my home for sale, and making any needed repairs. Once that work is accomplished I get online and post some classified ads that describe my home in great detail. On craigslist.com and ebayclassifieds.com there's no charge for these ads, so spare no expense making them long and elaborate. Be very specific about your home's unique features to attract your buyer. If someone is looking at the real estate postings in your local area and they click on your ad, you want them to stay there and read it, spending as much time as possible thinking about your home. You want to write ads that will make people curious so that they will email and call you for an appointment to see your home. That's how it works when I want to sell a home fast by owner so that I don't have to wait for other people to sell it for me.
