subject: Sarah Beeny To Judge Shed Of The Year 2012 [print this page]

Garden shed enthusiasts are thrilled with the announcement that Sarah Beeny will once again judge the Shed of the Year 2012. The likeable property expert and television personality is a big fan of the competition and the garden shed, so she's understandably delighted to take part in all of the action once again.

She said "Every year shed owners show us that their enthusiasm for a unique building at the bottom of the garden is not abating - especially the lady sheddies who are again showing the men how to do it and are creating wonderful spaces that anyone would love to relax or even work in.

"Well done to them all and I look forward to seeing what they can do in the 2012 Shed of the Year competition."

Property developer and Garden shed fan, Beeny, has been judging the Shed of the Year competition for 6 years, participating in every competition since its inception in 2007.

Sarah shot to fame presenting Channel 4's popular property show 'Property Ladder' and has since has fronted other shows such as 'Pay Off Your Mortgage', 'Streets Ahead' and 'Britain's Best Home', as well as being a regular contributor to magazines such as Homebuyer, New Woman and At Home. She is also is a regular writer for The Sunday Times.

The competition has contributed to a growing enthusiasm for the garden shed, and resulted in some out of this world renovation over the years. Nowadays, the competition features categories for each of the popular garden shed varieties from the pub shed, tardis shed, eco shed, and traditional workshop to the summer house, cabin, garden office and unique shed.

The competition promises to reveal some unbelievable sheds and Sarah will be on hand to offer her expertise and invaluable opinions to proceedings.

All are welcomed to participate by submitting their own shed to the competition judging panel. The Garden Shed can be the centre piece of you rgarden or something purely functional and useful. Most people have narrow ideas about designs and look & feel but a competition like this really shows how for some they are a real pride and joy. An extension of their home, an escape, a workshop or an offices or studio. It is a great way to make of the most out of your garden and these awards are a way of celebrating. Some sheds will be spectacular, some eccentric but there will be plenty to look at and the judging will be a difficult process.

With a main sponsor and cash price still to be announced, expect plenty more Shed of the Year 2012 news in the near future.
