subject: Where To Search For Wonderful Vacation Discounts [print this page]

Going on a vacation is great, most of the time anyway, unless you get roped into staying at a lousy hotel and have bad accommodations. The last thing you want to do, even though you probably won't spend much time in the room, is have a room that you are not comfortable spending time in. Now when you are young, maybe on a spring break trip, you worry less about where you are going to sleep then where you are going to drink, but those things change when sleeping on the floor or in a bathtub just doesn't work for you anymore.

In other words, when you grow up and aren't a teenager anymore, different things become more important than they used to be. So you have to do a little more research and quite possibly pay a little bit more money for accommodations that will work for you and your family. The first thing that you want to find out is what? Well, it depends on the person.

For some people they will want to make sure that they are staying somewhere that is smoke free. For others, they want a hotel that is pet friendly. That is to say that they allow pets in the rooms and have facilities to walk the pets and such. For other people, they want to make sure that they do not stay in a hotel that is pet friendly because that usually means that an animal stayed in the room where they are sleeping that particular night.

Whatever is important, and whatever it is that you do not want, you are able to see ahead of time. You can find all of the information to answer your questions on the hotels internet site or some other travel website that might compare many different rooms and chains together. This allows you to get the best information all in one place, but one thing to check first is that the site is not run by any particular hotel chain.

You kind of want to make sure that whatever information that you are getting, especially reviews and critics are independent and are from real customers. Of course, that isn't always 100% easy and accurate because really, anybody could post a review online if they want to. There really is no way to be sure they have actually used the hotel in question. But most of the time these reviews are truthful.
