Sajid Nadiadwala is currently among the topmost producers in bollywood. Under his banner Nadiadwala grandson entertainment, Nadiadwala has produced successful films like jeet (1996), judwaa (1997), har dil jo pyar karega (2000), mujhse shaadi karogi (2004), heyy bebyy (2007), kambakkht ishq (2009) and housefull (2010). He is known for his extremely high production values.

Sajid Nadiadwala was born on 18th february 1966 to a family that was highly involved in film production. His family, under the Nadiadwala banner, had produced around 200 films from as early as 1955. His grandfather was abdul karim Nadiadwala, father was suleiman Nadiadwala.

Other well known producers under the famous banner were uncle abdul gaffar Nadiadwala, farruk Nadiadwala, habib Nadiadwala. Sajid is the third generation producer of the Nadiadwala banner. His cousin firoz Nadiadwala is also a very well known producer in bollywood today.

Sajid started off as an ac technician. He later became a spot boy, and then gradually promoted himself to the post of a production assistant in his uncle production house. He also was the associate producer for the waheeda rehman starrer patthar ke sanam (1967) which was produced by a. A. Nadiadwala.

He later went on to set up his own production house Nadiadwala grandson entertainment. Sajid, after three unsuccessful ventures, finally found success in the 1996 film jeet. Starring sunny deol, salman khan and karishma kapoor, and directed by raj kanwar, jeet was an actionromantic drama that became one of the biggest hits of the year.

After a long gap of four years, sajid Nadiadwala returned with the film mujhse shaadi karogi in the year 2004. This david dhawan directed comedy film starring salman khan, akshay kumar and priyanka chopra turned out to be the third highest grosser of the year. The film became very popular over the course of time. With this film, sajid multiplied his production values.

Sajid however hit back with sajid khan directorial debut, heyy babyy, in the year 2007. A comedy drama starring akshay kumar, fardeen khan, riteish deshmukh and vidya balan, this film was one of the biggest hits of the year.

Kambakkht ishq (2009), directed by another debutant sabbir khan, starring akshay kumar and kareena kapoor, was released with a lot of hype. It had cameos by hollywood stars sylvester stallone, brandon routh, denise richards, and was produced by sajid Nadiadwala with extremely high production values.

The film took a huge opening, but due to lackluster reviews, the film turned out to be a pretty average fare. Sajid Nadiadwala upcoming film is a romantic, anjaana anjaani, starring ranbir kapoor and priyanka chopra, and is directed by siddharth raj anand. The film is slated for 24th september, 2010 release.

Sajid, recently, announced three films: one, titled kick (2011), stars salman khan and sonakshi sinha and would be directed by shirish kunder. Second, with actor saif ali khan and director siddharth raj anand. And the third, would be the sequel to housefull with director sajid khan that would star akshay kumar in the lead role.

Sajid Nadiadwala married bollywood actress divya bharti (who had starred in vishwatma, shola aur shabnam, deewana) in may 1992. Sajid first met divya in 1990 at filmcity, when sajid dropped by the sets of shola aur shabnam (1992) to meet govinda. It was govinda who introduced sajid to divya. Then, on 20 may 1992. Sajid got married to divya.

Their marriage, however, was kept a secret as divya career was at stake because she was a new actress in bollywood, who then got married. But unfortunately, her career and their marriage was cut short as divya fell to her death from their 5storey apartment building, tulsi 2, at versova, mumbai on 5th april, 1993.

There were numerous speculations regarding her sudden demise; accidental death, suicide and even murder. But, the investigations of her death were closed in 1998; the exact nature of her death still remains a mystery. Since then, sajid Nadiadwala has dedicated several films, he produced; to divya memory. At one point of time, sajid was seeing bollywood actress tabu in 1996 which cooled down quickly.

He then had a second marriage in 2004 with wardha khan, a former journalist with mumbai eveninger, afternoon despatch & courier. Wardha had first met sajid at the first death anniversary of divya bharti in 1994. They have two sons, one of which, while he was three, has even done cameos in his films.

Sajid is known to be very close to salman khan (bonded during the filming of jeet and judwaa), akshay kumar (sajid friendship with akshay goes back to his school years, as sajid was his senior at don bosco school), sajid khan and farah khan.
