If you have a book that you are interested in publishing yourself, congratulations on taking the first step and writing your book. Self publishing doesn't have to be difficult, but you should be aware that there are a lot of questions that you'll want to give a think about.
First of all, you have to decide the format of your ebook. Is it going to be a PDF, or another type of format? How will you include video or audio, should you want to do so?
Second of all, you need to know where you're going to sell your ebook. Are you going to go with just the Amazon/Kindle route? Will you sell it on your own website? Will you set it up for sale somewhere else? Will you set this up yourself or would you rather outsource it? Do you know where to outsource such things?
Third, how are you going to get the word out about your ebook? How will you make sales? How will you advertise for your ebook, and how will you establish yourself as a credible brand? Are you interested in an affiliate model? Do you know how to get affiliates and why you would even want them?
Fourth, how will you accept payment? Will you use Paypal, accept credit cards, or even cash? How will you organize your methods so you make sure you are getting paid for your sales? Do you know how to set up your ebook sales so that everything is automated and you don't have to get involved with every single sale?
Fifth, do you know anyone else who has been successful in the sale of their ebook and who would be willing to mentor you? Is it possible for you to ask questions from someone to get feedback on your website/ebook/business model from someone who has been there, done that? Can you find other people with similar goals to you, and who are driven to be successful like you, so you can bounce ideas off of each other and share advice?
