Six Reasons to Write an Ebook

Why write an ebook when you could print and sell your book in a regular store?

These days, ebooks are the fastest growing segment of the publishing industry. What is an ebook? An ebook is simply a book in electronic format, to be read on an ebook reader or on the computer.

Now, I will be the first to tell you that of course you can do just that. You can write a book and sell it in a bookstore, AND you can sell it online. There's no reason why you should limit yourself if you have an interest in both industries. However, the ebook is an alluring prospect over the printed book in several ways.

Here are some reasons why ebooks are increasingly popular.

1. They can be accessed anywhere. And when something can be accessed wherever you're at on the globe, then it makes it instantly superior to a book which is only found in certain bookstores.

2. These days, people are trending towards portable. The lighter, the better. Books have a tendency towards being very heavy. You want to carry only 1 or 2 around at a time. You could have 3,000 ebooks downloaded and it wouldn't make any difference.

3. Ebooks have become a familiar and convenient format. People spend so much time online, they are used to being able to click links, scroll pages, and watch videos. This format allows for more interaction and more audio/visual learning devices for the consumer.

4. Ebooks can be published by anyone. There are no hoops to jump through with finding a publisher, and no bestseller lists to compete with. Ebooks exist solely to impart information.

5. Ebooks have the potential to be as profitable, or more, than its printed sibling. With much less overhead, it's possible to keep nearly all profits made from the sales of online informational products.

6. To write an ebook is to embrace the future. Some people say that ebooks may eventually replace the printed book completely. Whether or not that's true, the ebook is the face of the new publishing industry and business savvy people will want to be a part of that.Six Reasons to Write an Ebook
