Mind confronts matter, or substance, in its smallest form: the atom. Should we accept String Theory, then we are confronted with the infinitely small particles. Strings and super strings consist quarks, being three million times smaller than quarks. Quarks being two to three hundred thousands of times smaller than the constituent parts of the atom like neutrons and protons.
Whether the assumed strings can have smaller particles that consist its structure is unknown at the present.
Our most prominent question that comes immediately to our minds posing a big problem is the presence of such strings, the origin of these strings and its structure making the whole of our Living Universe, or perhaps other universes parallel or connected.
If matter, in its different shapes, forms, condensity, whether as white, black or solid in form of air, earth, fire, or water for example, the underlying matter structure remains atoms, or its constituents basics such strings.
From the infinite small forms of life, such as microbes, or nanos to the infinite big such as galaxies and big stars (such as VY Canis Majoris located about 5000 light years from earth and its size 2100 times more than the size of our sun).
The infinite small and infinite big are but forms of life with its lively manifestations. The behavior of such life structures denotes birth, existence, movement, change and death. If so it must have some sort of IQ within it, making it tick as it does.
What makes matter tick? No one can answer the question at the time being. In spite all the progress of sciences today we are short, very short of convincing answers or even solid arguments.
The most common answer is that there ought to be a creator architect that brought things into existence, put them together and ordained their life and its manifestations. However, lack of any proof or evidence, makes scientists reluctant to believe in such a God.
In fact, a scientist believes in what he, or she, sees. If he, or she, does not see God then God does not exist. But since the question is basically founded on proof, or lack of it, then belief in front of such a universe becomes the only resort for everyone, scientist or otherwise.
Should we accept God as the creator-architect-cause-holder-controller-disposer then the question whether
or not God is inside matter or outside matter. Is God inside atoms or outside atoms? Inside strings or outside strings?
In other words, how does God control atoms and strings? If He is within the internal core of the atom or a string then this explains the power manifestations within.
Likewise, if God is extra matter and hence extra atoms and strings then the same explanation applies of its manifestations, such as origin, presence and function.
Glands consisting the endocrine system ( for example the Hypothalamus gland regulating the whole human body or the Pituitary gland regulating growth and blood sugar) in the body are perfect example of matter, of atoms assembled together to produce a specific function with succinct task and performance.
Without such glands man cannot possible survive. Who made such complicated systems of small size but primordial function?
Who controls such systems and maintain their functions? Science does not have answers to how these glands function nor to why do they function? Science at its present stage remains sterile for explanations. Is God within or without?
Such systems can be subject to remote control once in existence. Spinozians consider that God is within nature. However, this is a shallow and vague argument that lacks absolutely in proof or evidence.
Why should God be within nature and not the creator of nature from without? Why cannot God be extra matter, while being creator of matter and controller of matter? Nothing prevents this. Why should God be inside things? He, All Mighty as He is, can create whatever He wants by an act of His will.
What prevents this? Be distant to what He creates; be detached of His creation but commands everything according to His will.
God can be, and a strong probability for this argument, extra to whatever He creates. In this way He can very well be Extra time and Extra place, in other words Extra matter, while being creator controller and deposer for matter.
It is this very point that can be taken in the argument of why man is confronted with belief and disbelief and why man must confront the universe and why man must at one time of his life consider God as the Maker of the universe and why man has the obligation to make his choice between belief and disbelief in God.
