Are you struggling to lose weight but just don't know where to start?

1 Stop drinking your calories, this includes juice, beer, wine, soda or fruit smoothies.

Only drink the following water, unsweetened tea, black coffee (water is always best)

By only drinking these drinks you have cut back on your daily calorie intake, you will have more energy (caffeine). Your body will be more productive. Most people are dehydrated and when you're "thirsty" means your way behind on your fluid intake. Try to drink a ratio of ounces to kilo every day. (to figure your body weight in kg divide your weight in pounds by 2.2 ex 150pounds divided by 2.2=68.1 that means a person who weights 150lbs needs to drink roughly 68 ounces of water each day)

2 Cut out sweets, fats, oils

Americans myself included eat too much of the bad stuff. I know that whip cream tastes great but have you ever looked at the amount of calories that are in 2 tbsp. on average its 25 calories and as far as nutrition it gets a big fat 0 on everything.

Same goes for fats and oils. Think of it this way, if you were to spill oil on the carpet it's going to be a pain in the butt to clean right? Now think of your body as the carpet trying to be cleaned...it's not worth it to spill oil on the carpet or put it in your body. (with the right seasonings and spices oil is the least favorable thing to have in your food.

3. Get out there and move.

We no longer have to move far for doing much. I have a Roomba, remote control, a washer and dryer. But I still make sure that I do something every day. Always remember to play, run skip, jump and be active as much as you can. Do yard work, join a fitness class, attend a fitness bootcamp, hire a personal trainer, go for a jog, go swimming, play touch football, play tag with your kids whatever is going to get your body moving your heart pumping and put a smile on your face. Follow the wisdom of Nike "just do it" Try to be active for at least 1 hour each day get your heart rate up, push yourself to the point where its hard to breathe.

4. Have a support group. Friends, family, trainer, coach, mentor whatever you need to keep you on track and keep you from making mistakes. If you fall off make a mistake, learn from it avoid it and get back on track. No one is perfect but don't get discouraged and quit.
