subject: Grow Your Downline Faster By Diversifying Your Traffic Sources [print this page] One of the best ways to grow your downline faster is to diversify your sources of traffic (and leads). So many network marketers find themselves struggling to grow their downline quickly enough (and some struggle to grow it at all).
When you are struggling with this issue, one of the causes might is likely your traffic source. Traffic source issues, however, result from people making two key mistakes.
The best overall marketing strategy to grow your downline and to get more leads is to create your marketing system so that it looks like an octopus -- and has many tentacles. In other words, you don't want your marketing system to be dependent on one type of marketing (i.e., you don't just want to use PPC or article marketing or Facebook advertising -- you want to use multiple sources of traffic). So failure to diversify sources of traffic is the first big mistake you can make when trying to grow your downline faster.
The other big traffic-related mistake you can make when trying to grow your downline faster by diversifying your sources of traffic is to do it too quickly. Here's what I mean. When it comes to traffic, using more types of traffic is not automatically better.
In order for this octopus type of marketing system to work to grow your downline faster, each one of the tentacles needs to individually be effective. Meaning, each form of traffic you use needs to work. For that to happen, you need to be good at each kind of traffic. It will do you no good to have a bunch of different traffic generation items going at once if none of them work well (or work at all).
It is critical that you start out with one tentacle -- one source of traffic. It doesn't matter with which one you start. All that matters is that you stick with that one source of traffic until you get GOOD at it. Not mediocre at it . . . GOOD at it. When I say "good at it," I mean that you are producing measurably profitable results with that form of traffic.
Put another way, it must be working! If you want to grow your downline faster, you need to be willing to have this mindset about how to go about formulating and implementing your marketing system.
Once you have gotten good at one source of traffic, then go on and add another. Do the same thing with that second source of traffic, i.e., concentrate and work on it until you get good at it (and are producing measurably profitable results with it).
One caveat here on the "getting good" instruction I'm giving you. When I say you need to be producing measurably profitable results, I don't mean that you need to be making your "ultimate" or "ideal" amount of profits using that type of traffic. You just need to be making SOME profit. If you're making some profit from that source of traffic, then that is enough to move on and add another type of traffic.
That is enough for that source of traffic to help you grow your downline faster. You can (and SHOULD) continue to test and tweak each source as time goes on.
Remember as you are working to grow your downline faster, that network marketing (MLM) businesses are all about leveraging. You want to automate as much as possible and outsource where practical and efficient. You don't want to trade your time for traffic -- that is a terrible and inefficient way to build a business.
