There are nine players with two teams playing against each other. Baseball is an outdoor sport played on a baseball field. The field consists of four white bases which are called, first, second, third and home base. This is a great game for either kids or adults or for a family outing.

The Infielders have four players. They are named first, second, third base and shortstop. The shortstop player can be between first and second bases or second and third bases. Where ever this position is needed the shortstop can move to. The shortstop really has the action spot in every game as a good shortstop can stop many batters from ever reaching first base.

The remaining team is called the outfielders. One left fielder, a center fielder and lastly a right fielder. Each one of these players are positioned past the bases. These players generally catch the fly balls.

There are also additional players to the game. They are the pitcher, catcher and an Umpire. The umpire is the one who has to determine if the player is safe or out. He resides behind the batter and also the catcher. He stays close by to determine if home runs are safe or out.

This is a game of hit the ball and run, run, run. One has only three chances to get to first base and sometimes it can be tricky as the pitcher will do everything in his power to strike you out. With practice there are endless opportunities for a home run.

Walk is just that, walking to first base if the pitcher hasn't been able to strike the batter out. This has its advantages and disadvantages depending on which batter is up. For example, if there is a batter who is consistently batting home runs and now is ordered to walk this can be a disadvantage.

There are nine innings in all baseball. There is much to enjoy while basking in the sunshine with comfort foods such as hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries. Liquid refreshments are soda, beer and wine. Due to the size of the stadium, rentals are attractive for musical concerts as well as car shows. With all this activity near the ballpark, high-end eateries are opening up nearby as well.
