subject: IBB's Charities and Not for Profit Practice Embraces New Partner [print this page] West London law firm IBB Solicitors is delighted to announce the appointment of Jo Coleman as a partner in the firm's established Charities and Not for Profit practice.
Jo was a partner at the well known charities practice Farrer & Co LLP before she became a member of IBB's Uxbridge team.
During her time at Farrers, Jo worked tirelessly on the two largest mergers carried out in the sector in the last ten years - to form Cancer Research UK and Age UK.
In her extensive work with non-profits, Jo has become an specialist in providing commercial, regulatory, fundraising, and governance advice to these organisations. She also deals with transactional work, including on charity mergers, collaborations, reorganisations and start-ups, as well as undertaking more general advisory work for a broad range of charities and non-profit organisations.
Jo joins Peter Burnett and Tim Rutherford, who head up the firm's established cross-departmental charities team, providing a full service to charity clients.
Peter Burnett, head of the Charities and Not-for-Profit team comments:
"For too long the charity legal market has been dominated by a few central London-based firms. In these constrained economic times, where charities are forced to cut costs, they need a real alternative source of practical and reliable advice across a range of disciplines. We already offer that alternative but with Jo's appointment we have enhanced our offering to the sector."
Jo Coleman adds:
"This is a very exciting opportunity for me. Peter is hugely valued and admired by all his charity clients and I am looking forward to joining the Team and continuing to deliver the excellent client service and practical assistance that IBB's clients have come to expect. I have been incredibly impressed with IBB and the way in which it is able to deliver real value to its clients. The next few years will be difficult for the sector and I would encourage any charity which is reviewing its legal services to get in touch to discuss how our approach can help your organisation."
