Planning a vacation in New York City? Forget hotels - rent an apartment.

I travel to the city of New York for business once a year, and I always make a vacation out of it. After a few days of working a convention at the Jacob Javits convention center, the vacation begins. Here are a few tips my business partners and I have learned about how to enjoy the city so nice, they named it twice.

A Broadway show can be a bargain.

If you are going to play tourist, do it right. See a Broadway musical. It truly is an authentic Manhatten experience.

If you are looking for a bargain here, you may find it. Simply go to the box office during the day and ask if they have any discount tickets available for the evening show. Ticket holders often sell their seats, and good seats become available at a discount.

When in Rome...Take a cab!

New York is a city of non-drivers for good reason. Don't be tempted to fight the system by renting a car. It is much easier to get around without one. While you are in town, rely on taxi-cabs and other public transit. You may end up enjoying the experience.

Where to stay? How about an apartment?

Hotels in New York City are typically very expensive, and it is sometimes difficult to book rooms without planning far in advance. Unfortunately, many people are unaware that NYC vacation apartment rentals are available. However, savvy travelers choose NYC vacation apartment rentals as a wise alternative to booking a hotel.

Apartments are available in a wide range of prices, from modest studios to spacious penthouses. Instead of staying in a hotel, why not live like a New Yorker for a while? NYC vacation apartment rentals are available in a several wonderful neighborhoods.
