subject: Make Your Own Front Door Wreath [print this page]

It is not very hard to create your own front door wreath from scratch, it just takes a little time and some supplies which is why most people would rather just buy one. Making your own wreath, however; can be very rewarding and once you have the right supplies you will be happy to make plenty more if you have the time.

To make your own wreath you will need an empty wreath ring, hot glue gun, glue sticks, silk flowers and grasses of your choice, and any other items you would like to add to the wreath.

Start on a clean work surface and do not forget to protect it by placing some paper underneath it. If any glue should fall you will not have to worry about damaging your table.

Before you begin, it might be in your best interest to find some pictures of wreaths that you like. This way, you have a nice example to follow and if you get stuck you can follow the picture to create a similar wreath.

If you want a beach, fall, Christmas or Easter wreath then purchase the appropriate items for that wreath and then get to work.

You can also try to create a cool gardening inspired wreath for the summer by purchasing miniature terracotta planters or faux stone garden pots and decorating your wreath with them!

Use your drawing to create the wreath design. You may want to start by first adding your filler grasses to make sure the wreath looks nice and plump. After you have added the filler you can then go in and add your main items such as the larger flowers and adornments.

It might be best to start from the middle and work your way up and outward but this all depends on the design you are aiming for.

When you are finished you will add any ribbons or small final touches onto your wreath to top it off!
